Dry brushing or G`arshana, the Sanskrit translation to 'friction by rubbing’ is the ancient Ayurvedic practice of a self-care dry massage.
Results are facilitated by a brush with coarse, natural fibre bristles rubbed over the skin in an intentional pattern. Our skin is our largest eliminative organ. Dry brushing works to stimulate and detoxify the lymphatic system, release toxins, improve circulation, and regenerate cells.
By indulging in a few mindful moments of G`arshana, you shed dead skin cells to allow your skin to breathe, move stagnant energy through the body to increase clarity and reduce energetic blockages and enhance your connection to self.
G`arshana Guide:
- Begin at your base, your feet, and move up your body. Stimulate your arms last and brush up toward the armpit. Rub the skin using intentional, large, clockwise movements.
- Post-dry brushing, take a cool, refreshing shower to remove the dead skin
- Seal your skin-love practice with the rejuvenating energy of natural plant oil.
